Why the new ‘global scholars’ initiative is not as good as it seems

By PAULA MCCARTNEYAssociated Press – MAY 18, 2018–(Reuters) – A global scholars academy aims to foster the growth of the “new global scholars” movement by giving scholarships to young people from around the world, with an eye on expanding the number of its members in emerging and developing countries.

The Global Scholars Academy is a collaboration between Oxford University and Columbia University, which together have more than 30,000 scholars worldwide.

It is seeking to help boost the number and diversity of its membership from around 150 to 400 by 2020, according to a draft report published on Monday by the academy.

It also wants to establish a network of researchers, writers, academics and businesspeople to help fund the academy and its projects.

“We are focused on creating an inclusive global community where the world’s brightest students can flourish,” said Andrew MacGregor, the academy’s chairman and a former adviser to President Donald Trump.

As the academy develops, it is looking to expand its membership to include students from more than 40 countries and regions.

More than 500 scholars have already applied for scholarships, which include scholarships for students from China, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Brazil and South Africa, according the academy report.

This is the first time the academy has created a global scholarship program, MacGregore said.

The academy is also expanding its work with universities in India, Brazil, and South Korea.

Among the topics to be tackled in the new program are a global education fund and global scholarship and research partnerships.

In the first two years of the academy, it will create a $1 million scholarship fund, which will be managed by the university’s research department.

The fund will be used to support and support scholars across the world in their research, Macgregor said.

After graduating from Columbia University in 2020, the new scholarship will be shared with a group of scholars who have completed their degree, and students from the first three years of study.

A third fund will cover the costs of students who have not completed their degrees, and the fourth fund will fund fellowships for those who do, Mac Gregor said in a statement.

One of the core pillars of the new academy is the creation of a scholarship program focused on people from developing and emerging countries.

It will help students and scholars from underrepresented groups from around Africa, Asia and the Middle East and the Americas to achieve academic success, the report said.

The academy’s main goal is to promote the values of openness, collaboration and collaboration among scholars, Mac Gregoryor said, adding that “a diverse and inclusive group of researchers and researchers in the academy will have a strong impact on the future of the world.”

The academy will be an independent, non-profit organization, Mac MacGregors said.
